Baby wipes are the most widely used wipes. Wet wipes soaked with cleaning or nourishing lotions can be used in many different ways such as cleaning face or hands or grooming and cleaning babies when changing diapers. These wipes are usually manufactured through hydroentangled carded nonwovens.
May it be wet or dry the modern NW wipes are single-use and disposable products. Cleaning wipes are used for both consumer and industrial levels. Consumer concentric wipes are in direct contact with human skin therefore they are expected to have a soft touch and be skin-friendly. Body wipes, make-up removal or cleaning wipes, facial care wipes, intimate wipes, incontinence wipes, personal care wipes, adult wipes can be considered in this category. Heavy-duty cleaning wipes, household wipes, floor and surface cleaning wipes can be considered in the industrial category.
Disinfectant wipes have become part of our lives. These have significant consumption numbers which increased in recent years. These usually contain active ingredients or high alcohol contents that kill viruses or bacteria. Due to the specific function of these products, spunbond is the main NW material for these types of wipes. In some applications, spunbond is combined with an additional layer of wetlaid to increase the hydrophilic properties of the product. In some other cases, spunlace, composite materials and even wetlaid materials alone are used for these types of wipes.
100% Cotton pads or cotton wipes are made of 100% cotton. Cotton wipes are extremely hydrophilic and have a very natural touch. They are used for high lotion/solution-related applications such as makeup removals or in the manufacturing process of 100% cotton NW material cross lapper and card combinations are in a spunlacing process.
