In the Thru-Air Dryer, clean air at ambient temperature is heated up to 180°C by burning natural gas.
The heated air is expelled as flue gas after recirculation in the machine.
Increasing the temperature of the clean air at the machine’s inlet reduces the amount of natural gas energy consumed.
The flue gas can be mixed with clean air before entering the heat exchanger.
Clean air can be heated up to 60-70°C before entering the dryer, thus recovering a significant amount of heat energy.
